HALLOWEEN PARTY

My sister n law Randi threw a big Halloween Party and these are the results. Yes, it was a costume party and it was so so fun. As you can see, Brandon and I went as a couples figure skating pair. He was basically Jimmy Macenroe from Blades of Glory. It was hilarious. Anyways we had a blast and it turned out awesome. Not that I would expect anything less from Randi, she is another Martha Stewart!

Tell Me this isn't the Cutest Little Face!!!

Ava is 3 months now! This was Drake's first little halloween costume when he was 3 weeks old. It drowned him then, but she's just the right age for it. She is such a sweet little girl and look at that beautiful little face.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

So we had such a fun party for Drake. I made dinner for everybody and then the kids tattooed pumpkins, hit a pinata, and had a donut race. I also made him a lego cake, which actually turned out pretty cute. I can't believe he is 2 years old. Anyways sorry it took so long to post pics, but here they are finally. Love you Draker!!

OOPS!

So I took Drake to the Denver zoo a couple of weeks ago and as I was taking a picture of the buffalos, one of them decided he wanted to do a little "circus act!" Woops.

CAN I SAY...SEXY!!

So my little sister and her hubby came to visit this weekend. Man, it sucks being scattered. She is so much fun, I wish I could be with her everyday. I think back about before we were all married and still living at home, and I totally took my sisters for granted. I miss them so much. Anyway, you all know how I feel...but this girl makes me genuinely laugh my heart out!! Love you Erin. Thanks for coming to visit, wish it was longer.

COUNTIN' DOWN

So I've literally been counting down the days until the new season of "The Office." Robyn you know what I'm talking about. I'll be calling you. Thursday 8:00 PM, only 3 days!!! My friend Ashley and I, oh, and my husband are actually throwing an "Office" BBQ party with little gift bags and everything. I don't watch much TV, except this and all of Drake's shows he loves, but hey I can sing every theme song with him and he thinks I'm pretty freaking funny! So I think that's all that matters. I have a secret crush on Jim, okay so it's not so secret...I can't even make it through an episode without telling my husband how I love Jim Halpert. I even have notepads with pictures of Jim on them. So GO Jim and Pam, since I can't be with him considering he is a fictional character, then I hope you get to be! "There's a new sheriff in town, and his name's me." Just a little Dwight moment for those of you who know how I'm feeling right now.

BECAUSE OF MY CHILDREN...inspired by Burton's Because of Snowboarding

Because of my children I have been able to experience the joy of bearing a child. I have felt the pain of labor and the beauty that follows when your eyes see their beautiful little faces for the first time. I now know why they say, "when you have children, you wear your heart on your sleeve the rest of your life." I now know the true meaning of unconditional love and now understand how much love my mom has for me. I have felt my heart literally break to pieces because my child was hurt or sick, and know there is more to come. I now see the importance of a mother and father working together to raise children in a world of hurt, anger, violence, poverty and so on and respect my mother so much more because I don't know how she did it alone. With God, family, and friends I believe. I know the day to day joy of their simple little smiles and the genuine pure joy it brings to my heart and soul. I now know that for some reason when things seem not so great at the moment, when I see their innocent little faces it fills me with peace and makes everything okay. I've experienced that moment they say "mama" for their first time and it makes me realize that someone needs me. They need my love, they need my care, my hugs and kisses, my voice, and the assurance that I will always be here through whatever life throws our way. I have been able to experience the laughter of a child thru simple things and it helps remind me daily what is important in this life...the simple joys; my family, the gospel, God, friends, a roof over our heads, food on our table. I now know how a child can keep you grounded, because they are happy with just your love. I have now experienced the feeling of wanting more, not for myself this time, but for my children, because I want to be able to take care of them and give them what they need in this life. I now know selflessness, because now they are my life and now they come first before anything. But most of all, now I feel I have just a glimpse into God's love for me, and it makes me want to be a better person.
