whispers & giggles.

Life is chaos, period. In the middle of it all. Love flows. It weaves it's way in. With pieces from each of you. I am tangled in your whispers. I am enraptured by your giggles. I am calmed in the storm by your presence in my life. Your innocence is beautiful and breathtaking.

CALLING ALL SUPERHEROES...

Drake has been counting down the days until his 6th birthday for months. Literally. The day finally came and we partied it up with Batman! Drake ran in from school screaming and jumping up and down, "it's almost time for my superhero party!!!!!" We have an awesome group of friends & family who came to celebrate with us. We're so grateful to associate with such wonderful people. We made superhero masks, played "kryptonite" hot potato, threw balls thru the "joker's" face (thanks to Brandon for making such an awesome game), and Batman showed up as a special guest.

Drake you are such a sweet, fun, enthusiastic, humorous boy and you are growing up to be all those wonderful things and more. I love you little man. I'm glad you are mine. You make me one happy mama. Happy 6 years!

My boy.

The other day I got you all registered for Kindergarten. That night, I went to bed with an anxiety/panic attack. Maybe it's just because you are my first. I'm so excited for you and it's so awesome watching you grow up and become independent, but there is this other part of me that is scared to death. I'm partly in control right now. You are with me ALL the time and soon I have to let you out there into this big scary world. It's so bitter sweet. You are a wonderful little boy and I know you will do great things.

Last May 2010 you said to dad and me,

"I want Jesus to come to my house while I'm still little."

"You do?"

"That would be cool huh?! Daddy, do you have Jesus on your phone? I'll just say in my prayers, Jesus may you please come over.
I wish we could just call him on the phone so he can come play with me."

Let me tell you son,
He will always be there for you.
If you seek him.
He listens to you.
He knows you.
He loves you.
He died for you.
I hope you try your best to live worthily for those blessings in your life.
You are a special boy and I am so blessed to call you my son.

Spring Sunshine!

We've finally had some warmer days in the last week and we have definitely been taking advantage of it. Drake already has a good farmer's tan/sunburn on his forearms from riding his bike for hours on end. We have a park out it front of our house and the neighbor kids flock to it on those warm days. It's been so nice and refreshing to get out of the house for longer periods of time. I'm getting so excited for summer, sno cones (literally in walking distance) which will probably end up being an every day occurance, and going to the pool!

Drake's 5 year check.

46 lbs.
46 inches

I can't keep this kid in his pants.
You are so tall. My baby boy.
It won't be long before you out grow me.

Drake

You learned how to ride your bike today. No training wheels.
It's magical watching you learn and grow up.
Here's to making many more memories with you.
You are one of the many reasons that make my life so special.

My dear Ava, you learned how to blow bubbles with your mouth and you walked around all day with slobber on your chin.

For my babies.

Many nights I lay with you curled up in my arms.
Singing lullabies that my mom used to sing to me when I was a little girl.
I feel like you're all growing up way too fast.
My nights of cuddling and lullabies are numbered.

One day you will all be "too old" for it.
Until then I'll take all I can get.
But you will always be my babies.
I love you as big as the sun, moon, and stars.

Or as Ava says,
I love you as big as this toy, or house, or
whatever little object she thinks of.

This is one of my favorite songs my mom used to sing to us:

"For Baby (For Bobbie)"
By: John Denver

I’ll walk in the rain by your side
I’ll cling to the warmth of your tiny hand
I’ll do anything to help you understand
I’ll love you more than anybody can

And the wind will whisper your name to me
Little birds will sing along in time
Leaves will bow down when you walk by
And morning bells will chime

I’ll be there when you’re feelin’ down
To kiss away the tears if you cry
I’ll share with you all the happiness I’ve found
A reflection of the love in your eyes

And I’ll sing you the songs of the rainbow
A whisper of the joy that is mine
And leaves will bow down when you walk by
And morning bells will chime

I’ll walk in the rain by your side
I’ll cling to the warmth of your tiny hand
I’ll do anything to help you understand
And I’ll love you more than anybody can

And the wind will whisper your name to me
Little birds will sing along in time
Leaves will bow down when you walk by
And morning bells will chime

3 months today.

You are cooing and giggling a little.
You are happy and beautiful.
You are realizing different ways to get my attention.
You love your baths, but hate getting out. You cry every time.
You have a big brother and sister who adore you.
You have these big beautiful blue eyes.
One thing is for sure. You are loved in every way possible.

Our first snow day.

Winter season has officially begun now that it has snowed today. We woke up to a quiet blanket of beautiful snow. Though I despise cold weather sometimes it doesn't stop me from still having a good time! Plus it's nice for a change, and I love when it's sunny and warm while your playing in the snow. It makes it even better.

As I am waking up this morning Drake yells to Ava," Come here, I have a surprise for you!" They peek out my bedroom window to see their world filled with snow. He continues to say to her, "Look what God did for us today!"

So we made our way out to make our first snowman of the season and wrapped it up with some yummy hot chocolate and marshmallows. Happy winter!
