Nantucket Island: Part II

My friend Malissa celebrated her 30th birthday New England style. Thanks to Charles (her husband & our personal chef) & Malissa (our hostess birthday girl) we were able to stay in a beautiful home, on a little quaint island in Massachusetts. In town the streets were paved with cobblestone and the front yards were lined with huge hydrangea's.

There was lots of game playing, great friends, delicious food, and between 6 girls, too many photos of the occasion. Thank you Charles and Malissa for an amazing weekend to ring in 30 years for a wonderful friend and woman!!

Birthday center piece & home made dinner!

Another yummy dinner from Charles!

Chowder contest. About 10-15 restaurants from around Nantucket Island came together to have their chowder voted on. This first picture is of us waiting in line to get into the big white tent. Way fun & very good, but I was a little chowdered out by the time we done testing all of them.

Awesome fudge shop in town. The picture of the fudge below is just a day's worth of fudge made. The woman who owns the store, makes that much EVERY morning and that was only part of the wall filled with fudge. It was soooo good!

You have to take a ferry out to the island. Not only did I have a 5 hour plane ride, a 4 hour car ride @ 4 am, but our 9:30 am ferry was cancelled because of weather. We didn't get on a ferry until 3:30 pm. Like I said lots of traveling, but so worth it!! These pictures are from the ferry ride going home.

Kelli I love the pictures. That staircase is freakin awesome is that at the place you stayed? That looks like you had so much fun. I am glad you got a chance to go, those opportunities don't happen very often.
